We have exciting news to share. Twelve applications for the 2025 FOSTER A POTTER studio-based placements are currently being considered by an independent selection panel. The successful applicants will be announced in mid-December. Thank you to all applicants and a HUGE thanks to our esteemed selection panel for volunteering their time. THE DENBIGH OPEN GARDEN FUNDRAISING EVENT SEPTEMBER 2024

What a huge success! Over eight hundred guests enjoyed a wander around the beautiful historic garden and outbuildings of Denbigh Farm, with all ticket sales donated to FOSTER A POTTER. Friendly locals, and not-so-locals, chatted with painters, potters, woodworkers and sculptors showcasing their work in the restored, and renamed, Exhibition Shed. Live music played in the hay shed while guests enjoyed barista coffee by Roadies Mobile Coffee, Devonshire teas and a BBQ lunch.

FOSTER A POTTER aprons and ceramics donated by Sandy Lockwood, Vicki Grima and Jean McMaster sold like hotcakes.

There were demonstrations and workshops in the woodworking and pottery studios by passionate artisans, acting/miming workshops given by resident puppeteers Shake Shake Theatre and cattle dog mustering on the Sunday. The local Macarthur Ceramics Group made a huge display of their ceramics alongside professional potters, Jann Kesby and Steve Williams, who drew crowds with his kick wheel demonstrations and wood firing display.

All exhibiting artists donated 10% of their sales and so, together with wonderful ticket and food sales, $20,000 was raised for future FOSTER A POTTER placements.

The weekend could not have happened without the fabulous team of volunteers who helped with everything from parking, ticket sales, artisan demonstrations, scone baking, coffee making, BBQing, sales and singing … a terrific team effort!

Thank you especially to Susie and Ian McIntosh who organised the event and invited us to share in their passion for Denbigh Farm in the best possible way. A heartwarming weekend in beautiful historic surrounds – community at its best!
