As the 2025 financial year draws to a close, we reflect on what has been possible through the generosity of our FOSTER A POTTER community.

We offer huge thanks to our surprise donor of $20,000, who wishes to remain anonymous. This donation has re-assured us we are on the right track, whilst also giving us a more solid, confident footing going in to 2027.
We also had 3 x $1000 donations – one from the Joffe Family Foundation, and 2 from donors who wish to remain anonymous. A huge thank you!
Several donors give monthly, whilst many others have given one-off donations. The majority of these donors are potters. We love and appreciate your commitment to supporting fellow potters.
We are especially mindful that generosity takes many forms. Some donors are visible advocates; others prefer to remain unnamed. Some knitted and sold beanies to fundraise (thank you Susan Curran); many volunteer at our fundraising events, and others participated in a woodfire retreat where all funds went to FOSTER A POTTER.
We honour your trust in us with great care and responsibility. At a time when the Australian arts scene can often feel precarious, your commitment provides stability, encouragement, and momentum. It allows us to support artists to take risks, to refine their skills with wonderful mentors, and to contribute meaningfully to cultural life.
This year, your contributions have helped us to:
- Support emerging and established ceramicists at pivotal moments in their careers
- Enable access to materials, studio time, and mentorship
- Strengthen connections across our community of makers and supporters
- Continue building a program that is responsive, thoughtful, and artist-led
We look forward to continuing this work together in the year ahead.
Warm regards,
Susie McIntosh, Jean McMaster and Vicki Grima
